about

This song started as a piano-based idea that i ran past Funk d'Void in a mentoring session. He suggested I develop it. I added a melody on top, then added beats, then keys, then guitar. Chris Engel did awesome remote saxophone recordings. Then Jake Curran redid all the guitar parts remotely, and it started coming together. Esosa recorded all her vox parts at home too. Les Keye helped with the mix and it was mastered by Liam Grant.

There's an awesome video too starring Zimmy the Robot. Check it out: www.youtube.com/watch?v=g6glaZ-RTLE

lyrics

Wish You
by Daniel Jacobson

(verse 1)
don'tcha want to know a little bit
about the way i feel now

just come in and sit and listen up
and hear what's on my mind

(prechorus)
i don't know why but it hurts a little bit
you never told me why

(chorus)
you're going far away to make it somewhere
London maybe LA I forget now
i'll try to wish you my love

(verse 2)
I know that you want a little more
from life that you can't get here

you can see the way the brighter lights
will shine on you much more

(prechorus)
i don't know why but it hurts a little bit
you never told me why

(chorus)
you're going far away to make it somewhere
London may be LA I forget now
i'll try to wish you my love

about

ZOiD Dublin, Ireland

ZOiD (Irish electronic musician and composer Daniel Jacobson) got into techno in the 90s, but then decided to learn jazz, so he did, and nearly got sucked in to a level-19 jazz black hole, but with a strong effort he escaped and returned to the land of electronic reptillion dancebeats with only the shadow of a trumpet's sax to remember the memory of a time when jazzmen blue horns. ... more
